Four hours of sleep.
Feeling cold. Then warm. Possibly a fever.
An excellent starting point for making important life decisions.
I’ve been feeling pretty good about the direction I’m taking lately.
Writing. Making things. Working on a podcast. Exploring business ideas. Looking for work that fits the life I want.
It’s a lot.
And none of it comes with a particularly predictable income yet.
Which is fine.
Most days.
But apparently four hours of sleep and a slightly questionable body temperature are enough to make me reconsider the entire operation.
Suddenly, I’m looking at job platforms again.
Not the interesting assignments. Not the short projects I’d actually like to do.
The other ones.
Wrong industry. Wrong qualifications. Jobs I know perfectly well aren’t right for me.
I apply anyway.
Apparently, when panic sets in, job requirements become more of a suggestion.
And then, naturally, I get rejected.
For a job I didn’t want.
In an industry I don’t work in.
Which is fine.
Except I’m offended.
For approximately four minutes.
Excuse me. I was supposed to reject you.
Then I remember why I didn’t want the job in the first place.
Close the laptop.
Have some coffee.
Back to figuring things out.
